What does "incompatible" mean in option A

is there a difference between incompatible and not been able to occur at the same time? i am still confused as to why A is wrong, but I understand why B is correct

so I diagrammed b) as /P ---> /RP . Is this an "if only" indicating sufficient? The explanation doesn't touch on that. This would explain why I had it backwards.
