Why isn't it D?
I hope someone answers this because I've never gotten a response to questions I post on the Message Board.
Why isn't the answer D? I read the commentary on why it's wrong, but what's the difference between appealing to authority's opinion as opposed to their actions? Don't both fall under "appealing to authority" as a flaw in their argument? I'm confused about how to move forward with questions that appeal to authority.

The answer isn't D, because D, although it is appealing to authority, is stating that the doctor directly is giving conflicting information about an issue, when the doctor isn't because the passage states that "meat is a part of a healthy diet," so just because the doctor eats meat, doesn't mean they are giving conflicting information.
E is correct because the passage is taking for granted that something is correct based solely on the actions of the doctor (expert), not what the doctor is saying.
