Thanks for the question! So we’re looking for an answer here that least contributes to an explanation of the exception to the generalization. Make sure you have the generalization straight, and then the exception straight, and then realize that we want something that DOESN’T contribute to explaining that exception. (A) talks about how improved medical care reduced the mortality rate among able-bodied adults in the decade following the famine to below prefacing levels. Well, if that’s true, then the labor force might not have been as diminished as it would have had medical care not been improved.
