Answer choice E seemed too extreme

I got this question wrong because, even though none of the others seemed correct either, choice E seemed too extreme to me. Particularly the phrase "most law schools" is what threw me off, since nowhere in the first paragraph of the passage is it said that MOST law schools focus on judicial decisions and analysis of cases... it just said that statutory law is often given too little attention by law schools... also it never said main focus or primary focus.. it just said "much of legal education focuses on..." how do you suggest I do not make this mistake again of eliminating a choice because it seemed too extreme to me?

Hi @marinar96,

Thanks for the question! So it’s a good thing in general to be looking out for extremely worded answer choices. However, sometimes, these are the correct ones if supported by the text. If you take a look at lines 5-6, it says that “much of legal education, with its focus on judicial decisions and analysis of cases . . . “ and that’s the textual support there. When it says “much of legal education,” we can infer that this is “most law schools,” and when it says “focus,” we can assume that it means the “primary focus.”

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

How can we safely assume focus to primary focus?

We don't need to assume anything. We can glean directly from the first paragraph that the focus of law schools is on judicial opinions, rather anything else. That makes it the main focus.
