Narrowed it down to 2 but got it wrong

I was able to narrow this down between C and E but ultimately went with C because it directly mentioned synthetic compounds. Can someone explain a little further why I approached this incorrectly and how they would approach it?

Hi @CWhite,

Thanks for the question! So we’re being asked here for when it’d be ok to alter the formula of a classic perfume. Remember, this author really loves the classic perfume recipes, and doesn’t think they should usually be altered. But if you take a look at passage 4, we’re told that perfume manufacturers have already changed some classic recipes to make them worse. So the author might think it’d be ok to change them back to the way they used to be. And that’s what (E) says. Taking perfumes that were altered and making them back into what they were originally is exactly the type of thing this author would think could be ok.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
