Hi @kenken,Thanks for the question! Take a look at lines 41-43. There, we’re told that “it is a salutary shock to realize how much ethnographic literature omits the perspective of women about women.” We can infer from that that most ethnographic literature omits women’s views of women. You might think it’s not perfect, but it’s better than the answer choices out there, and it’s a fair inference from the passage.

I see why C is correct, but I chose D because the passage stated "shocking" and answer choice D states "surprising." Can you explain why D would then be incorrect? Thanks!lritz on July 19, 2023

Great question! While I agree that the author is surprised that ethnographic studies fail to consider the perspective of women about women, I think that D says something slightly different. D seems to imply an already existing body of available interviews of women about women, and we don't know the authors position about the availability of that information.
