Why must Q/R/S & T/W always be exhibited?
In the game set up, we are told that Q/R/S AND T/W must always be exhibited. If the rules state that there must be two birds of the same species but opposite sex, what prevents H and J, H and K, and M and N from being exhibited?

Thanks for the question! So one of the parakeet pairs has to be exhibited, and here’s why. First, make sure to keep “caged together” and “exhibited together” as separate concepts. Let’s say none of the parakeet pairs were exhibited. That means no Q, R, S, T, and W. That means all of them are caged. Well, we can’t have birds of the same sex and kind be caged together. So we can put a male and female parakeet in one cage, and a male and female parakeet in the other. But now we have a leftover male parakeet! And both cages already have a male parakeet, so we can’t put the male parakeet in either cage. That’s why a pair of parakeets is always exhibited.
