Thanks for the question! So we’re trying to complete the argument here. The argument tells us that some paleontologists think that some dinosaurs guarded their young in nests long after they hatched. They point to hadrosaur babies and adolescents as examples. The argument then says “but,” signifying a change, and then says crocodiles do the same thing but don’t guard their young for a long time. A natural way of concluding this argument would be to say something like “the paleontologists’ evidence might not mean what they think it means.” And that’s what (E) says.

(C), on the other hand, says that hadrosaurs guarded their young for at most very brief periods after hatching. But the argument isn’t trying to make an argument that strong. Because hadrosaurs and crocodiles might be totally different. All it’s saying is that the evidence isn’t as strong as it might initially seem to be.
