Based on passage B, which one of the following is a characteristic of some "games that are intentionally commodified"...

Why is E incorrect?

In lines 54 -56 the passage states "games that are intentionally commodified even of in-world sales for virtual currency, regardless of whether the participant cashes out." I am having trouble seeing how this would not be describing players exchanging one virtual currency for another, as answer choice E suggests. Thanks for all of your help!

Hi @Courtney-McClelland,

Thanks for the question! The issue here is that you’re reading those lines a bit too broadly. They don’t have to include the exchanging of one virtual currency for another. “In-world sales FOR virtual currency” suggests that people are selling in-game ITEMS for in-game currency, not necessarily exchanging virtual currencies. So for example, it would be like selling an iron scimitar for some gold pieces, as opposed to trading gold pieces for another in-game country’s currency.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
