Hi @AriAre,

Happy to help!

We know that Hannah spends 14 days in a total of six cities. Hannah visits at least one city in each of the three countries - X, Y, and Z - and she spends at least two days in each city that she visits.

The question stem tells us that Hannah spends three days in the cities of Country Y and seven days in the cities of Country Z.

So, what can we deduce from the above?

Hannah spends a total of 10 days in the cities of Country Y and Country Z. Therefore, she must spend four days in the cities of Country X.

We also know from the rules that Hannah spends at least two days in each city that she visits. This means that Hannah only visits one city in Country Y because she spends three days there.

Country: X Y Z
Cities: _ 1 _
Days: _ 3 _

We now have to make sure that Hannah visits 5 cities between Country X and Country Z to reach the total of six cities visited. Hannah can visit a maximum of 2 cities in Country X (4 days with 2 days spent in each city) and a maximum of 3 cities in Country Z (7 days with 2 days spent in 2 cities and 3 days spent in another).

This brings us to our total of six cities.

Country: X Y Z
Cities: 2 1 3
Days: 4 3 7

We are looking for the answer choice which must be false. Let's see which answer choices we can eliminate based on our set-up above.

We can eliminate answer choice (A) because Hannah visits 2 cities in Country X and 1 city in Country Y.

We can eliminate answer choice (B) because Hannah visits exactly two cities in Country X.

We can eliminate answer choice (C) because Hannah visits 3 cities in Country Z and 2 cities in Country X.

We can eliminate answer choice (E) because Hannah visits 3 cities in Country Z.

The correct answer is (D) because, as we deduced above, Hannah can visit a maximum of 2 cities in Country X and 1 city in Country Y. Therefore, to get us to six cities as required by the stimulus, Hannah must visit 2 cities in Country Z.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
