The train station game

So I understand all the logic that was used, but it hinged on making two scenarios where Y was 4th and W was 4th. How do you make the judgement call for this game that mapping out those scenarios is an efficient use of time versus other games? Does this make sense?

I like to use two tests to determine when to make scenarios. First, if there are a limited set of possible world then we have a strong candidate for scenarios. However, this is not enough to make scenarios. I only do so if one or both of these worlds tell us white a lot. That is, if placing the thing in question triggers other rules. We have that here with the rule about who comes fourth.
