Question #8
Hi,
I am still confused on why C would be the correct answer. I am not seeing the assumption that was made since the first sentence stated that all primates in the zoos were gorillas. Think I'm missing something. Can someone explain further?

The assumption made in the stimulus is that tall tulips are also tall plants. We know that the only plants in the garden are tall tulips, but this does not necessarily mean that the only plants in the garden are tall plants. There are many plants which are taller than tulips; we can only conclude that the tulips are tall for tulips.
Answer choice (C) tells us that all the primates in the zoo were gorillas and that the only gorillas in the zoo were small gorillas. This is the same as the stimulus' discussion of tulips.
Primates in zoo --> Small gorillas
Answer choice (C) then concludes that the only primates in the zoo were small primates. As above, this does not have to be true. There are many primates which are smaller than gorillas; we can only conclude that the gorillas are small for gorillas.
Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
