Can someone explain the analogy please?

So, I was able to figure out the correct answer, but I can’t figure out what Hudson is saying. How does this analogy relate to the first speaker’s claims?

I agree this is a terrible analogy, but I think there is a kernel there, even if it's a small one. In both cases, we are rejecting the idea that one cannot be considered a member of a category on the grounds that it requires some future thing.
