Hi I am not an instructor but I will try to help.

Choice C is wrong because the author of Passage B doesn’t agree with the overall argument of Passage A. B believes that A is right at certain points, namely, morality not being universal still should respected. However, B thinks that A is wrong in calling the retracing changing moral standards or anachronistically projecting current moral expectations such as race, gender, etc. onto old moral standards not respecting morality. B believes that retracing the changing moral standard is merely to acknowledge how charges of plagiarism changed over time, not disrespecting morality or mocking the fluidity of morality.

Choice D is better because passage B only concurs certain points in Passage A, not the overall argument. Also Passage B believes Passage A is too extreme in calling the practice of retracing changing moral standards not respecting morality, and this is also what choice D indicates.

Thank you. Please feel free to correct me.

Just chiming in to note that Jing Jing is spot on! B does not completely agree with A, but thinks that A takes their argument too far- despite some overlap.
