Surprised there is no commentary on the first sentence and answer-choice B
The first sentence/conditional is somewhat linked to answer choice B.
The first sentence is:
"Leachate is a solution, frequently highly contaminated, that develops when water permeates a landfill site."
Expressed in conditional form:
Water permeates a landfill site-----> L develops
B states:
"If any water permeates a landfill, leachate will escape into the environment."
Expressed in conditional form:
Water permeates landfill site-----> L escapes into the environment
In retrospect, B is false because L developing is different that L escaping into the environment. Talk about splitting hairs; on instinct I read through the rest of the answers and found that E is an identical match to the contrapositive.
But is that why B is false, because developing L and L escaping into the environment are two different phenomena?
Thank You
