Question 8 option E- why valid?

Hi, I thought option E was flawed because no one is in jail did not mean the negation of some people are in jail. The negation of some people are not jailed could also mean all people are jailed... Can someone explain why no one is in jail was interpreted as the negation of some people jailed (that is, some people are not jailed)?. I get it by just mere English but when parsing out the pure logic, I can't help but think no one is in jail is not necessarily a negation to some people are jailed...I took it as two separate statements, so the argument was flawed.

Hi @Ileri,
So note that the negation of some actually is none. Remember that some on the LSAT means "at least one", so the negation of "at least one" is none. Here's some of the common quantifiers and their negations:
All - Not All
Most (over 50%) - Not Most (under 50%)
Some - None
None - Some
Few - no good negation!
Many - no good negation!

Hope this helps, feel free to follow up.
