English is not my native language as well and I can relate to your situation. To understand why E is the correct answer is important to carefully read the question. The question asks what the author considers most accurate. Line 5-9 tells us how King learned about the passive resistance to government from Thoreau's essay. But then the passage shifts to emphasize how King disagreed with some aspects of Thoreau's philosophy, especially the use of violence. If we accept answer choice C which says that the idea of Civil Disobedience provided King with a model for ..... then we are forced to agree that King agreed with the whole concept of Thoreau's philosophy that could possibly lead to accepting the violence. But the passages tell us that King did not agree with Thoreau. However, the language in answer choice E is milder. We can agree that King was influenced by some ideas of Civil Disobedience because he advocated for it against unjust laws that are mentioned in the last paragraph. AC E points to those parts in the passage that King agreed to the idea of Civil Disobedience.
I am not sure if I could explain my thoughts clearly and I hope someone from LSATMax steps in to explain the differences.

Hi @DiegoC, I'm so sorry about the late response! We just put a bunch more instructors on the message boards so hopefully we'll be able to keep up with all of your great questions.

The difference between C and E is as follows. C suggests "Civil Disobedience" was a model or template that King then used when building his own movement. E, on the other hand, says that "Civil Disobedience" was something that inspired or convinced King that this is how things should be done.

Ex: What effect did Diego's lasagna have on Naryan?

C: Naryan used Diego's recipe to cook his own lasagna.

E: Naryan loved how Diego's lasagna was spicy, and it encouraged Naryan to go out and try more spicy foods.

Hopefully this illustrates how the two are different. Let us know if you need any further clarification!
