Making the argument flow logically

I had some difficulty with this drill because I wasn't focused. I have a couple of questions. I this first premise a quantifier-type? Concerning the missing premise, how can I determine a proper necessary component, or am I just making things hard for myself. I want to clarify this so I won't waste time during the actual test.

Hi Lamont,

The missing premise drills are given to prepare us for the strengthen with sufficient premise question type. Our goal on strengthen with sufficient premise questions is to add a premise that, in conjunction with the preexisting premises, will guarantee that the conclusion is true.

In this case, the conclusion is C -most? not B.

I recommend starting these questions by separating the conditions of the conclusion:

C not B

Our goal is to bridge this gap. Fortunately, we always have evidence that will get us part of the way there. Here, we can add the premise, C -most? A, to the above diagram:

C -most? A not B

After adding every premise, you simply have to fill in the gap. In this case, the gap is from A to not B, so our answer could be either of the following:

A ? not B
or contrapositive:
B ? not A

Answer choice D fits the bill.
