Question 3

Could I possibly be provided a further explanation of answer choice C? In other words, could someone draw out the formal logic regarding that specific answer choice using quantifiers? I ask because I believe there is some formal logic here that confirms the answer, and this would ultimately help me solidify my confidence in that answer choice. Thanks in advance!

Hi Mak,

For paradox questions, we are usually going to find that formal logic less helpful as we are trying to bridge the gap between two seemingly incompatible positions. In this case the positions are
1: Twain = Clemons
2: Not know -most- SC=writer
Everyone knows MT = Writer

C tells us that Most don't know SC = MT. If this is true, then this is a possible explanation for the fact that most people do not know that Clemons was a writer. This would explain that people are unaware that clemons was a writer because they did not know that clemons was twain.
