Why is the answer isn’t must be true?

The explanation in the answer review. It says that the answer is cannot be true. In this case when the question says except. Does this indicate that the answer is could be true the polar opposite of cannot be true? The explanation of the the question analysis says that could not be true would be the incorrect answer. Please explain the concept of quantifiers I feel as if I’m understanding quantifier switching from “most” and “some.” I’m not stressing on this question as the answer choices where on the true side. I mistakenly thought the right answer is was “must be true.”

Hi Lamont,

These question stems are tricky (and fortunately not overly common, although they do pop up). If we are asked "each of the following conflicts with the author EXCEPT" we can expect four answers that we can prove conflict with the author's view, and one answer that does not necessarily conflict with the author's view.

Answer choices that conflict with the author's view are ones that must be false. That means we are looking for an answer that is NOT a must be false. If something can not be proved to be false, then that answer choice could be true. So, the right answer here will be something that could be true, since something that could be true will not necessarily conflict with the author's point of view.
