#11 Question about B
I understand that answer B is a cause without effect. However, B seems out of the scope of the question.
Why is B correct when the argument focuses on Western civilizations and B focuses on Eastern civilizations? Are you able to go outside the scope of the question (and not focus on answers that only pertain to Western Civilizations?)

This is a weaken question, so we are looking for anything that can undermine the argument. One such way to do so is to provide a counterexample. the conclusion here is that money causes civilization to decline, and the author provides an example regarding western civilization. However, once couple weaken that argument by example by providing a counterexample in which money did not cause civilizational decline. Even though the author uses western civilization in their argument, the argument itself is about all civilizations.
