Could somebody do a setup for this problem? The one the answer gives doesn't explain anything. Thanks!

Hi Jacobjones,

Our first premise is
A - B
So its contrapositive is thus Not B - Not A

And our conclusion is that some Bs are C.

We are looking to connect A and C.

(A) Tells us that some As are C. Since we know that all As are B, this implies that some Bs are C, which is our conclusion.

(B) Is irrelevant, we do not care about things that are not A or things that are not C. There is no contrapositive to a some statement.

(C) Also is irrelevant, we do not care about Not A

(D) is also irrelevant as we know nothing about Not C, and E is wrong for the same reason
