Explain why D is correct?

How is D the correct answer? The question reads, "The passage suggests that daycare is at best a limited solution to the pressures associated with child-rearing for all of the following reasons EXCEPT:" A: Supported by lines 11-12, "they also need meaningful time with their parents." But the author is not suggesting that the best daycare available cannot guarantee this, the author is just stating that this is a child's need. So wouldn't this be the correct answer? B: Supported by line 7, "...workers cannot always find or afford suitable care." C: Supported by line 7, "...workers cannot always find or afford suitable care." D: Supported by lines 4-5, "children in primary school need care after school and during school vacations." So how is this the correct answer? E: Supported by lines 8-10, "Even when they obtain such care, parents must still cope with emergencies, such as illnesses, that keep children at home."

Hi @cmbaro,

The passage does mention that children in primary school need care during vacations, but the question was not asking you find an answer choice that was not mentioned in the passage. Rather, your task is to find an answer choice that functions as evidence that daycare is a limited solution.

The other answer choices reference ways in which day care falls short of meeting needs or expectations, but answer choice D is not describing something wrong with day care. In fact, it could be interpreted as a way in which day care is a good solution by allowing relief during school vacations.
