Understanding the yin and yang concept

During the video, it is mentioned the 4 yin and yangs in order to understand the relation ship of true vs. false when identifying LR questions. My confusion is how is must be true not opposite to must be false, and instead could be true; and vice versa with others?

Hi Jacob,

Great question.

Must be True means something is true 100% of the time. So what would NOT must be true be? Well, everything other than 100% certainty, which includes 0-99.999%. Anything that is true 0-99.999% of the time COULD be FALSE.

Let’s reverse the situation. Something that could be false is true 0-99.999% of the time. So what would NOT could be false be? The only percentage that is not in the could be false range is 100%, so if we said something could not be false, it must be true.

To see how this is relevant on the LSAT, suppose a question stems says the following:

Each of the following must be true EXCEPT:

Your job is to find the answer choice this is NOT a must be true. In other words, we must find a COULD be FALSE.
