The logic behind eliminating answers

I got most of them eliminated and then got the principles muddled and picked the wrong one. I understand why it is wrong, but I'm struggling with the question stem saying "conforms to both V and J's principles except" and a lot of the answers that conform, only conform to V's principles and don't apple to J's. How is that the same as conforming to both?

Hi Rswafra,

Which ones do you think do not conform to the situation that J describes? We are looking to find an answer choice that goes against what at least one says- it is possible that an answer choice could not be relevant to the principle, but also not violate it.

Hi Rswafra,

I think your reasons are not that far off from the ones we had, in fact, your response for A, and C are pretty much identical.

A wrong answer is often wrong for more than one reason. This is particularly true for must be true questions. All wrong answers are wrong for the reason that they are not proven by the passage, but there can be more than one reason for this, and more than one way to articulate this. I think that all of your reasons for eliminating are valid.
