Need more explanation please

I am going through this one and the explanation on the first question went way over my head. Is there another way to explain this one so I might be able to follow along?

I have this question too. Also, in the group games video there was no grouping games with rules that resulted in numerical diagrams (ex rule three being 1-1-1), something I definitely would have liked to see before doing a question like this. The closest thing I can find are examples in the linear games section.
