Question # 23 - Substitution of Constraint

Could someone please explain to me why Answer Choice "E" here is correct? I picked Answer Choice B. The hypothetical drawn out for both Answer Choice B and Answer Choice E is as follows: Commercial: I H K F G Version: S S L S L I thought this was the correct choice because there would be two repeating S versions. I thought Answer Choice "E" did the same thing. It states the second and fourth commercial must be short. Commercial: G F I H K Version: L S L S L How is this the right answer choice and "B" is not? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I'm a student not a tutor. However, I partially figured out the answer to your question lol.

Because of rule #3 the only possibly scenarios for the short/long stipulation are:
1.) LSLSL
2.) SSLSL
3.) LSLSS

All three of these force short to be in 2nd of 4th place to avoid breaking rule number 3. So if both the 2nd and 4th commercial have to be short this ensures that LL never occurs in the three options above.
I'm still trying to figure out why B is wrong though.
