Hi Studying0,

The crux of the disagreement is whether using words with certain connotations would have any impact on the strength of an argument. S thinks it cannot, and E thinks that it can. S seems to be talking about an argument being good or bad solely in the sense that it is a valid argument or not, while E seems to take a more expansive view: it is bad if it fails to persuade. We actually do not know if S would agree with B, it is possible they would, but simply would not care as the connotations do not matter to S.
