I picked D Which is correct

How is D correct? That "or"statement makes it a different statement than the statement from the stimulus.

Hi, the or statement tells us that it enriching in either of the two ways is enough for it to be preserved. This is more than enough to justify the statement in question, in which it enriches in both ways.
