why is A wrong?

This is how I diagrammed the argument's conclusion: Superior mastery of athletic technique --> champion athlete. Answer choice A matched it. So, I don't understand why it's wrong. Also, can someone diagram the correct answer choice for me? Thank you.

Hi Abigail,

I think our final sentence is in fact our conclusion, that to become a champion, one is required to have superior mastery. I would diagram this as

If C -> SM

I think you may have flipped those around. We are not told that having mastery guarantees a championship, but rather that it is required for it. So, mastery is a necessary condition, not a sufficient one. This is a good match for C.
