What is the best way of answering this question? Diagramming?

I initially thought to diagram this question but quickly realized that the variables dont match and diagramming wouldn't be the best way to get this right. What is the best approach for questions like this? I'm really confused about this

Hi Eaten,

I would try my best to understand the argument, and then put it in abstract terms for myself. Let's look at how I would do that here.

The author thinks it is pointless to do something(match shades), because even though it has a real benefit (house looks better), the effort you spend is wasted (color changes).

I would then see what answer choices matches the abstracted argument. A does this well.

The author thinks it is pointless to do something(align wheels), because even though it has a real benefit (comfier), the effort you spend is wasted (wheels shift).
