A vs B

The correct answer (B) says that the stimulus fails to exclude alternative explanations to the observed effect. Answer choice A provides an alternative explanation--that there is a possibility the bottle was mislabeled. To me these two answers are perfectly compatible with each other.

Hi Andrewarabie,

A is compatible with the argument. The argument is that the bottle is mislabeled. A is also saying it is mislabeled.

The alternative explanation that is most likely is that the baking soda, not the vinegar, was mislabeled.
