i dont understand this one because it seems that the gap is being deprived. the argument makes a jump from a general claim to oh well if you are deprived you wont blah blah. so then why is the answer not have to do with being deprived to achieve a skill?

While I think the gap does have to do with being deprived, we should be specific about how it relates to being deprived. In this case, we are told that the being that is given everything it wants would not acquire PI. But, maybe the being that was never deprived would somehow acquire PI despite not needing it. The right answer choice seals off that possibility. While it does not specifically talk about deprived, it does relate to that concept
