What is passage A's thesis?

I follow everything the man is saying, but I can't get a feel for what he thinks the right approach to plagiarism is. He talks about what others think, the conclusions that must be drawn from those thoughts, and the consequences. But I can't find where he says his point of view.

Hi,

I think we could sum it up as "plagiarism is bad, and always has been. Historians who take a relativist approach to plagiarism are wrong." This is tough as this is an argument against a certain historical approach, rather than argument for anything in particular.
