I got the answer right but I'm confused by the inclusion of pivots in the answer explanation.

The answer explanation references "pivot language" and I'm not quite certain if that means the fact that the public distrusts media but evaluates new media from old media.

I think that's a reference to the conditional nature of the right answer choice, since the right answer is saying that if there is bias, the public would struggle to know.
