Why is A not correct?

I thought that A was correct from this logic: not ED--> not PW PW--> ED Please elaborate as to why this is not correct. Thank you!

Hi, the original argument is

If not both X and Y, then not Z.
Mary has both X and y, so she will have Z.

This is far from the logic of A, which is

If not X or Y, then not Z.
Paul has Z, so must have X and Y.
