I'm confused about how the rule of Jerry driving Wednesday or Saturday, or both is treated as binding when it also says he can drive on other days. How can the rule be violated if it allows him to drive on any day?

I have the same question, rule 4 says Jerry can drive on Wednesday, Saturday, or both, but he can also drive any other day. How does this bind him to Wednesday or Saturday?

The rule states that he must drive at least one of those two days, and that he's also allowed to drive other days. If he doesn't drive on neither Wednesday nor Sunday, this violates the rule. Just because he's allowed to also do others doesn't mean we can ignore the part of the rule that says he must be on at least one of w or s.
