Strategy for these question types

Hi, I got the answer correct, but I find that inference questions like these tend to take up way too much time for me. I find myself able to eliminate one or two right off the bat, but I end up taking too much time eliminating the rest of the answer choices. I was wondering if anyone had a strategy or some advice to use as little time as possible on these questions while still arriving at the correct answer.

I think this depends on which type of inference question. There are ones like this that ask specifically about one of the parts of the passage, and others that are just general inferences. For the type we don't have here, I would dive into the questions, and look for an answer choice that we can prove from the passage. Critically, I would try to hunt for the thing we can support. It's not really possible to truly eliminate and answer unless it directly conflicts with the passage. It's almost impossible to prove a negative, but it's much easier to prove a positive. Wrong answers are wrong usually because we simply cannot prove them.

For a question like this, I would think back to the thing it references, and maybe even reskim that part of the passage. From there, I think the same principle applies. Hunt for what you can prove, not what we can't.
