I don't see support for the idea that A thinks we can never treat others the way they act. While we know that A thinks there are certainly some cases in which we cannot do so, I don't see any support for the idea that we cannot do so in all cases.

In fact, I think the author of A gives us a roadmap to when it would be ok. The author uses the harm to self, others, and the general trust to say that lying to the liar would not be justified. If there were cases when the benefits of acting wrongly outweighs those concerns, then it seems that the author of A would think lying would be moral.

I am not referring to answer choice A, which is also incorrect. I am wondering why answer choice D is incorrect and why answer choice C is correct.

Hi, the As above are in reference to passage a or the author of passage a. The first paragraph is why I don't like d, and the second is why I do like c.
