Strategy for Dialogue format

Hi, When encountering a question stimulus that uses a dialogue format, is it possible for each conversation participant to have their own main conclusion? Am I being asked to select the correct answer choice from the argument as a whole, or by its separate dialogue parts? Hoping this makes sense.

It's not just possible, it's usually the case. Most dialogues will be two people either disagreeing with each other, or Making similar but not identical points. While they may note be making good, well planned out arguments, there will almost always be a point of view that is their main point. As for what you are being asked, you just need to read the question. Here you are asked what role a statement plays in one argument (and likely how that statement is important in confirming or rebutting the other argument), in other cases you will merely be asked to find what the authors agree or disagree about.
