Could I get maybe a different example or alternative explanation of the "backup plan" discussed in the answer explanation? This is the first I have seen that and I'm just trying to get clarification on how that works. I have always just done the negation test to confirm the answer choice. Thanks in advance!

That's a really weird way of phrasing the negation test! I think it's just a way of trying to generalize the negation test because many folks find it hard to negate some statements. I think you're good sticking with how you approach the negation test as is.
