The author tells us that rock has always been bad, but in the last at least the album art was good. However since the rise of digital distribution, rock now has no redeeming qualities.

We are looking for something that author must agree with.

We know that it used to have one redeeming quality, the album art, and now the author thinks it has none. Thus, the author must agree the album art is no longer a redeeming quality (or in the language of the passage, the music is no longer accompanied by innovative visual art).
