Confusion

Hello! I picked E for this question and understand why that is wrong (because the passage never cancels the crop rotation alternative) but I'm unsure where in the first paragraph, it endorses that research should be done for the agricultural use of genetically altered bacteria. It definitely talks about it as an explanation to the phenomenon of phytopathogens lessening but it never actually supports any argument that talks about research. I'm a little confused and would appreciate an explanation. Thank you! Also, I'm not seeing any explanations on my end. Is this a glitch??

Ah I see the confusion here- the author references the bacteria in the first paragraph, but the reason they do so- that is to support the idea that these bacteria could be genetically altered to be even more helpful, doesn't show up until the first lines of the second paragraph. Note that even if the author brings something up in one paragraph and the question asks why the author brought it up in a certain paragraph, the actual reason may relate to the rest of the passage.

And yes I'm not seeing explanations either. I've made a note in the devs list to take care of.
