Q1 and Q2

I do not understand why the first question and second question are set up similarly but want you to pay attention to different details. For Q1, it only shows a portion of the sentence, but is asking about the entirety of the sentence. Since I only acknowledged what was explicitly stated in the question, I got it wrong. Q2 had a similar setup, but wanted us to focus on the one portion of the sentence explicitly stated rather than the sentence as a whole, causing me to get that question incorrect as well.
