@Willcast, thank you for your question,

Keep a stack of note cards now, writing down on one side a word, and on the back the definition, for every new word you learn and occasionally flip through it. Second, the LSAT questions are supposed to based on things like Supreme Court Opinions, so spend some of your downtime reading more! Mehran, the founder, believes in reading the Economist, and it truly helped his score, so I also recommend it!

Hope that helps and happy studying,

@Willcast, thank you for your question
(the prior response was from another thread)

Here, always be careful to watch for adjectives/adverbs in the RC passages (and in LR, too) to note the strength or force of the concepts used. This is a key part of the LSAT. Pulling out a few relevant terms, line (30) tells us "several explanations..." and line (38-39) tells us "A more controversial alternative proposal..."

The idea of "several explanations" supports correct answer choice (D), while the idea of "a more controversial alternative" does NOT support incorrect answer choice (A), which states that the scientific community has been "sharply divided." One controversial proposal (with no evidence that the other is controversial) does not indicate a divide, especially not a sharp divide. Remember, strong statement like "sharply divided" must be supported by strong language (on the RC and the LR sections). Thus, be very strict with the strength words in the passages and answer choices.
