I wouldn't necessarily use this as a rule, but just think about what the point or purpose of the passage is. Why is the author taking the time to tell us this information? Most often than not, the main point of a passage is interwoven throughout the entire text since it is the main thing the author wants to get across.

Answer choice (B) on this question is correct because clearly, since the point of the passage is that traditional work schedules are too inflexible for parents, then it is likely that the author would agree that it is the most troublesome barrier facing working parents.

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Why is D not the answer. Is it because barriers against advancements opportunities for the unprofessional employees is too narrow?

Hi @maranda-mckoy@live.com,

You are correct!

These barriers cannot be the most troublesome barrier facing working parents with primary child-care responsibility because they are not faced by all parents who fall into this category, only those who are nonprofessional employees.

Hope this helps! Keep up the great work and please let us know if you have any further questions.
