Problem with answer C

The only problem I have with C being correct is that stimulus says the advertisers are motivated by moral as well as financial considerations. Thus leading me to infer the motivation of profit and morality aren't mutually exclusive. C seems to point to the advertisers being motivated by moral reasons and not financial reasons since they are losing money by withdrawing. I chose A instead because that could strengthen the idea that they left and went to another family newspaper thus allowing us to infer they made that decision for both moral and financial considerations rather than one or the other. Maybe I am going too far in such an inference but I wanted to see what you guys had to say about this line of reasoning. Thanks.

I had the exact same thought process and came to the same conclusion as Joseph here.

@Carter, C strengthens the argument because it rules out an alternative cause. It wasn't about the money because they would have actually stood to gain more money if they did not withdraw the ads. This is why C works.

With A, it's tempting to thinking that they switched to other family newspapers, so they must be all about the family, which would mean that they morally disapproved of the direction the other magazine was going. The problem is that we cannot assume anything that is outside of what the argument is saying. It's possible that the advertisers switched to other family newspapers because that's where they expected to make the most money.

does this mean the answer is a necessary assumption or a sufficient?

I think this is just a strengthen, rather than a necessary or sufficient assumption
