Conclusion: Homeowners' Journal should run an article giving information to homeowners on how to reduce the risk of lead poisoning associated with do-it yourself renovation.

Why? Because large quantities of lead dust can be released during renovations in houses with walls painted with lead-based paint, which places occupants and the renovators at high risk of lead poisoning. So, these renovations should only be done in unoccupied houses by contractors who are experiences to protect themselves from lead dust. However, even with warnings, many (i.e. some, which could be just one), people will not pay to have someone else do renovations they believe they could do less expensively themselves.

We are looking for the answer choice that weakens this recommendation, i.e. the conclusion.

Answer choice (C) does exactly this. How? Well, in an attempt to try and lessen risk for those who are already inclined not to go with a professional contractor, the recommendation actually endangers even more people because running such a diy article will place not only those already inclined to diy the project, but also will convert some whow ould have otherwise hired professionals to performing the renovations themselves. Thus, their recommendations actually puts even more people at risk.

This is why answer choice (C) is the correct answer.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
