Thinking in the right process

@lsatmax Instead of eliminating H like in the explanation, I put J H G_ _S which didn't allow space for U and I didn't recall J>H in the moment. So what I guess I'm asking is did I get a lucky break and got the right answer? Any thoughts and/suggestions on the process would be great. Thank you!

@Alex yes, it is important to make sure your hypotheticals actually incorporate the rules.

That is the only way to ensure you are getting the questions right for the right reasons instead of getting lucky.

could it not be G,T,H because it says jane either goes 1st or 3rd and henry has to go after jane and if she goes on first he can go on second am I wrong?

Let's try out that scenario

J H _ _ _ _

The four remaining are U, S, G, and T. We know that S is exactly three days after G, so we would have to put G third, And S sixth. This would then violate the rule that U is after S.
