Lines 46-49 state, "...King's discussion of just and unjust laws and the responsibility of the individual is very similar to the transcendentalists' discussion of higher law." The lines quoted, which are King's description of just and unjust laws, express his opinion that a "just law" is one that goes along with the "moral law" i.e. goes along with ethical standards, and that an "unjust law" does not go along with the "moral law" i.e. does not go along with ethical standards. Therefore, since these lines suggest that King judged human laws by ethical standards, and lines 46-49 state that his thoughts on this subject are similar to those of the transcendentalists', answer choice (C) is correct: "They suggest that King, like the transcendentalists, judged human laws by ethical standards."

Hi, Can you please clarify why "B" would not also be correct? Line 38-40 suggest that without realizing it, "he was an incipient transcendentalist." Couldn't this example then be providing evidence as "B" suggests.
